Welcome to Pune the historical City. This city was established by the Great King of Maharashtra Chhatrapti Shivaji Maharaj.Pune City was Capital of Maratha Empire till 1818. In 17th and 18th century, Pune was considered by the British as the centre of political unrest against their rule in India. World reputed University known as Savitribai Phule Pune Vidyapeeth is working glamorously on all Universal fields of knowledge.Pune City is developed very rapidly as Information Technology Hub. Pune City was a place of the Great Indian National Leaders like Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. As a prisoner under British Rule Mahatma Gandhi spent maximum time in Yerawada Central jail. Bapuji was also jailed by the Britishers in the specially built prison known as Agakhan palace campus in PuneIn Pune Zone huge Industrial Sector has been grown rapidly. In the emerging stage of this historical City our Institution was established in Kothrud village adjacent to Pune in 1959. Branches of the Institution have also been established in Nagpur and Aurangabad cities of Maharashtra State.

Infrastructure

​​Maharashtra Gandhi Smarak Nidhi owns 10 Acres and 12 R land in Kothurd, now part of Pune City. Kothrud was a village adjacent to Pune City. Now Kothrud has been merged in Pune Municipal Corporation. On 1.5 acres of land MGSN’s Industrial Estate was established which is officially recognized. In this Industrial estate 25 Small Scale Industries are run by private owners. We have constructed residential quarters for our staff and in huge open area we are conducting various programs and events.

Hall
​
Gandhi Bhavan is established on the 1.5 acres of land owned by MGSN in Kothrud, Pune. Gandhi Bhavan Building has been constructed on the area of 11,000 sq.ft, which has 3 independent halls. Out of which, one hall named as Memasahib Deogirikar Hall, in his memory who was founder of the Institution. This hall is a well-equipped auditorium with a capacity of 300 seats. Second hall is Dining Hall with seating arrangement of hundred people. Another hall is Mahatma Gandhi Mini Theatre. This mini theater is air-conditioned with good acoustic. It has projector facility, latest sound system. The Institution has collected rare movies and documentaries on Gandhiji as well as subjects like futility of war and riots. Such rare movies and documentaries of Mahatma Gandhi are readily available for exhibition at any time.
