Gandhi Saptah

2nd October, the day of Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated as ‘World Non-Violence Day’. On this occasion, Maharashtra Gandhi Smarak Nidhi in Kothrud celebrate the Gandhi Saptah during October 1 to 8 2017.

Rakshavisarjan

According to Mahatma Gandhi’s wish immersion of his raksha (ash-after funeral) in all major Indian rivers was followed scrupulously. One of the Raksha Kalash (pot) was sent to Pune. Ashes were immersed in Indryani River at Alandi Village near Pune Cityon 12th February 1948. Small memorial ‘Rakasha Visarjan Stambh’ has been built on the bank of the river in the memory of Raksha Visarjan day. Every year on 12th February at ‘Rakasha Visarjan Stambh’ program is arranged in the memory of Raksha Visarjan.

Death Anniversary of Bapu

This day is named as martyr day across India in the remembrance of the martyrdom of the people who fought for the independence and Bapu was shot dead on this day in 1948.

International Nonviolence Day

2nd October birthday of Mahatma Gandhi which is observed as international nonviolence day over the world is celebrated every year by MGS Nidhi.

YouTube

MGSN has started youtube channel as ‘Satyagrahi’. Satyagrahi Channel will be a platform to comment on current social and political issues and current affairs through Gandhian thoughts.

Gandhi Vichar Sammelan 2025 

Gandhi Vichar Sahitya Samelan 2025 was organized during 7 to 9 March 2025 at Gandhi Bhavan Ground Pune. More than 2000 participant attended this Sammelan. Hon. Manoj Kumar Za (member of parliment) inaugurated the Sammelan. Dr. Kumar Saptarshi, Laxmikant Deshmukh addressed the Sammelan and Suresh Dwadashivar chaired the inaugural function. Sonam Wangchuk was the chief guest for the valedictory session. Tushar Gandhi, Medha patkar, Chandrakant Wankhede, Chandrakant Zatale, Sushma Sharma and other eminent activist and writers were among the speakers. There was exhibition of books, Khadi and hand made articles, stone sculpture on Gandhi and gift moments made by small vendors. Press and electronic media covered all event and helped to get wider publicity

Gandhi Darshan Shibir 

Maharashtra Gandhi Smarak Nidhi has been working to promote Gandhian thoughts and thus, enlighten youth by organizing workshops and lectures. As a part of this Gandhi Bhavan organize a "Gandhi Darshan Shibir" on the second Sunday of every month. During this program, Speeches by respected, social and intellectual personalities were arranged. This initiative is receiving a great response from the public.

Lecture & Seminar

MGSN organizes debate,workshops, lectures from time to time on the various topics like Social, Political, Economics, Gandhiji, Vinoba. These programs are open for all. MGSN also organizes various programs and lectures on Gandhian philosophy.

 Republic Day

MGSN celebrates 26th January  Republic Day every year.  Flag hoisting by MGSN Trustee Members at Gandhi bhavan Campus. MGSN employees, Campus Industry owners and workers, Students, Gandhian people and local people join and take part in this program.

Independence day

MGSN celebrates 15th August Independence Day every year as a National festival. Flag hoisting by MGSN Trustee Members at Gandhibhavan Campus. MGSN employees, Campus Industry owners and workers, Students, Gandhian people and local people join and take part in program.
