Institution has started Publication and sale of literature by and on Gandhiji and Vinoba Bhave through Gandhi Sahitya Bandhar. This literature is for sale and is well displayed. MGSN has published more than 53 books on Gandhian literature in Marathi with reasonable prices. As well some books have been published on various issues which are available for those who want to purchase.

Khadi and Gramodhyog Bhandar
Mini theatre equipped with LED and Projector (Mini Theatre System), where Movies on Mahatma Gandhi screened. MGSN has collection of CDs, DVD’s and films on the life of Mahatma Gandhi. The main purpose of this project is to highlight the life of Mahatma Gandhi and to spread his ideology. MGSN possess CD’s and DVD’s related to social issue. Efforts are being made to popularize these films to every section of the society.
Mini Theatre
From the beginning this Institute runs eco-sanitation activity. Previously this activity was known as Bhangi Mukti Yojana. In the year 2011 MGSN renamed this activity as ‘Eco-Sanitation.’ Research and development activity of rural toilets at affordable cost was continuous process. Mamasaheb Deogirikar, then president was much inspired by the nation building Gandhian principle of cleanliness. He met famous Gandhian personality Aappasaheb Patwardhan who was well known as Kokan Gandhi. He conducted series of experiments at his Gopuri Aashram. Appasaheb Patwardhan agreed to hand over this activity to MGSN with long experience, expertise and skilled supervisors. Deogirikar started this activity to build toilets in rural area of Maharashtra. One Hundred fifty supervisors were working in this program. Awareness campaigns, workshops, training programs were organized under Bhangi Mukti Yojana by MGSN throughout Maharashtra. This was the main activity in those days of the Institute.
Ecosanitation (Gramsafai)
In Pune Zone huge Industrial Sector has been grown rapidly. In the emerging stage of this historical City our Institution was established in Kothrud village adjacent to Pune in 1985. MGSN Industrial Estate has been officially recognized as the small-scale industrial estate having 25 industries.

At the time of Independence of India, theory of partition of the Nation i.e. two nations theory was strongly putforth by Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. British rulers were tacitly supporting the said theory by using their ageold ‘divide and rule’ policy. Ultimately India was divided in two parts – India and Pakistan. While exchanging population after partition common people were facing lots of trouble. Hindu Muslim communal riots were spreading all over the country. On the border of newly born Nations. Lot of families were shatter by violence Gandhiji was working day and night for stop riots. He alone was fighting as one man’s army.
Standing peace army is necessary for civil Society. Mahatma Gandhi wanted to create such army of common people which will work continuously for maintaining peace and harmony in the Society.
In Gujarat riots 2002 most of the families of minority communities were drastically affected and lost their lives. Violence was based on the conflict of cast, religion and disparities in the Society. These conflicts and hate campaigns are damaging peace and harmony in the Society.
The huge damage to the peace and harmony in the society compelled MGSN to work on this serious issue. Accordingly MGSN started an activity with the name Shanti Dal. It is working for creating awareness and campaigning for permanent peace and harmony in the Society. Research, workshops and recruitment of volunteers for this cause is the prime object of Shanti Dal. MGSN has worked successfully on such sensitive issues in Pune City.
Injustice on minority community for fifty years by denying them their right to build mosque which was destroyed by flood in 1961. Erection of building of Makkesha Masjid, has been achieved with peaceful means under the leadership of Dr. Kumar Saptarshi. Hindutvadi forces were opposing construction of this masjid. Since then Muslim community in Pune is emotionally attached to MGSN. They believed that followers of gandhiji will always stand firmly and fight for justice with minority community. This faith enriches us and our institution.
Shanti Dal (Communal Harmony and Disaster Mngt)
MGSN started this activity on 15th Nov 1967 with the name Maharashtra Gandhi Smarak Nidhi Granthalaya in Gandhi Bhavan. This library is one of the popular library in Pune City. Approximately one hundred people visit this library and reading room daily. Children, women who are the members and beneficiaries of this library. Along with books many marathi and english magazines, bi-monthlies, weeklies, marathi, english and hindi news papers are available. For Gandhian literature a separate section has been developed. 3000 books on Gandhiji and his thoughts in different languages are available on the topic. Library is working with E-devices with its own software developed for daily digital working. Its Branch is working in Naryanpeth, Pune. From 2012 a separate Study room section has been opened.

Museum, consisting of a comprehensive picture gallery so as to generate enough curiosity and enthusiasm about Mahatma Gandhi, among the new generation . It will have display of Gandhiji’s portraits, paintings, documents and photographs.

Play School and competitive exam, center was inaugurated by Dr. Vijay Bhatkar- MGSN branch office run this activity since 2015. Play School is an educational Institute working at national level. There runs a kinder garden, Pre-primary & Primary school under this activity. About 1000 Sq. ft. area is used for this activity.

MGSN runs this activity from 2012 at Pune Head Office. Nagpur Branch runs this activity with Name Rajmata Jijabai Vachanalaya Va Granthalaya. Many school and college student s demands for study room, so management committee decided to establish one study room and provide this facility along with study material for those students. Now, 100 students gets benefit from this study room.

MGSN run a boys hostel named as ‘Mahatma Gandhi Hostel’ for poor and needy students,who wish to go for higher education in Aurangabad City. MGSN provides them accommodation on very low reasonable charges. Institute provide Bed and cupboard to each student.
